(en) The Baesuri gens was an ancient Iberian population who opperated a mint in the Conventus Pacensis of Lusitania. Their location can be identified with modern-day Castro Marim in Faro, Portugal. The ancient city was located in a high and strategic point, with control of the area of the mouth of the Guadiana river. The Baesuri mint recorded a low production of bronze coins in the second half of the 1st century BC, as well as lead tokens. (source: Leandre Villaronga, Jaume Benages; 2011.
